Opol Travel Destination
OPOL is the nearest town from Cagayan de Oro City, southern Philippines to the west. As the most proximate town from the most booming city in Mindanao, it naturally shares the limelight experienced by Cagayan de Oro. Although admittedly, there are only a few urbane and chic joints in Opol, this is definitely what a blooming town looks like.
Opol has been known decades over as having the most inexpensive yet elegant beaches in Misamis Oriental. Of course, there are dozen others but due to its geographical location, it has lots of customers especially on weekends for lazy people who just want to dip into the sea yet looking for a relatively near location.
Yet it is not just dipping that Opol’s beaches are known for. There are a variety of water activities there such as kayaking, windsurfing and jet-skiing. Experts in these businesses are readily available to tutor the amateurs.
Beyond the beaches, explore the rural upland landscapes of Opol and one can breathe the freshest of air. Beauty is represented by the innocent look of the lasses’ faces who inhabit the countryside. It’s pure nature at its best. Opol is currently ruled by Mayor Dixon Yasay, recipient of a national leadership award in his youth.
