Balingoan Travel Destination

BALINGOAN is a crossroads. Almost every tourist, foreign or domestic, going to Northern Mindanao passes through Balingoan because it is the gateway to Camiguin, one of the hottest island destinations in the Philippines.

Balingoan has its own port where ferries from Camiguin dock on a one-hour trip from the island and going back. There are about five of these ferries and they make at least half a dozen round trips a day.

Although there is already a high-speed boat ferrying passengers from Cagayan de Oro City, ferries in Balingoan are still more popular due to their number. While one waits for a ship in Balingoan, you may dine out at the various restaurants lining up beside the port. These restaurants offer nothing but authentic and fresh sea catch cooked to native Filipino delicacy perfection. Well not everything is cooked as kinilaw is merely mixing raw fish with vinegar, pepper and an array of spices in between.

Balingoan is also home to the diving resort in Mantangale. The Mantangale-Alibuag diving resort has been there since the late 90s and this is actually considered the most modern premiere diving resort in Northern Mindanao. Their expert divers who will assist you have been trained in the United States.
